Welcome to MERCO. Established in 2008, we entered the specialized field of reinforcement steel processing under the banner of MERCO (MIDDLE EAST REINFORCEMENT CO. W.L.L.), our subsidiary providing technical steel processing services. We are currently located in the New Industrial Area. The strong construction industry sector in Qatar has indicated a need for several producers of Cut and Bend Steel Reinforcement, and we are proud to be a part of Middle East Building Materials Co W.L.L.

 

MERCO operates two production lines with a Cut & Bend capacity of 8,000 tons per month. Additionally, our facility includes a Coupler and threading operation (mechanical rebar splicing) provided by the Thai DEXTRA GROUP. As a company, we are one of the leaders in Qatar for Cutting & Bending of Steel Reinforcement Bars.

Cut & Bend Division

 
 

Our cut and bend factory specializes in the production of rebar elements through a mechanical cutting and bending process. Additionally, we can provide threaded and coupled bars. Our factory can produce elements of various shapes, as designed by building reinforcement designers, with bar diameters ranging from 8 mm to 40 mm in all steel grades. We ensure high accuracy and repeatability in producing these shapes. Currently, our factory has an initial capacity to produce 8000 tons per month of cut and bend material. With our modern equipment and professional production team, we are committed to providing a high level of service and quality.

 

Our production process is managed by advanced, professional computer software. All machines are equipped with electronic software modules that are integrated with the mainframe. The software oversees the production process from the receipt of raw materials to the delivery of finished goods to the construction site, ensuring traceability of the final products.

MERCO utilizes the BAR tech system for rebar splicing. Bartech is a mechanical splicing system with parallel threads, specifically designed for connecting concrete reinforcing bars ranging from 12 mm to 56 mm.

Cutting

The end of the reinforcing bar has been cut square.

 

Cold Forging

The sawn end of the reinforcing bar undergoes a patented cold forging process, which enlarges it. This process also increases the core diameter of the bar to a predetermined size.

 

Threading

In the last step, the thread is now mechanically cut onto the enlarged end of the bar.
